January, 2004 -- The Commission -- The character names are Balladar and Chyril and both are human. The two have been companions and lovers over the numerous years, sharing many travels together and have recently returned home, enjoying the moonlit city street. Balladar screams of raw physical power, standing at 6' 4', broad muscular shoulders, arms, chest, and legs, all in proportion to one another, yet his face betrays him as an educated man schooled in the art of war and politics. Chyril is almost the exact opposite of Balladar in both body and personailty. Standing 5' 6" she has flowing auburn hair that hangs freely across her bare back. Her face always wears a slightly sexy inviting smirk, and her deep blue eyes are always taking in the surroundings looking for more adventure.

This is a rough idea of what I had in mind to try to demonstrate their personalities. Both are on a city street. Balladar will be standing solidly, with Chyril moving ahead and tugging at him. I'm not sure where to put Humphry yet.

(right) Here is a more detailed view of Balladar.

This is Chyril so far, though I have concerns about her outfit. I want her to have a somewhat wealthy look, but still with lots of skin. That direction has led me away from anything resembling a fighter, though.

"I like what you sent over in the attachment. Personally, I think it gives an appearance of elegance but carefree as well. That definitely describes the character."

(right) Here's the couple together, so far. Still have to add Humphrey and tweak a few things.

Have added Humphrey and started to put down some very rudimentary values.
Some more basic colours and values.
I've started to add some basic details to the face and armour. I'm still playing around with the flesh colours for this colour scheme...I never realized how blue skin gets in evening light.
Worked some more on the skin and Chyril's outfit. Detailed the wall behind them a bit.
Started to do some detail work on Humphrey and the faces.
Work continues. I'm tightening things up now and trying to get the lighting consistent.
The lighting is pretty much set now. Still some detail work to do on Humphrey, but mostly tight rendering left elsewhere.
