September, 2003 -- The Commission -- The character's name is Jackson and he is a male halfling rogue. Jackson isn't stout like some halflings, he is 4'2 with green eyes and wild brown hair. His hair is wild because he has sort of a "Coolio" style hair, he has dreadlocks a little longer than medium size length that stick up from his head going in all directions.

Playing around with some rough sketches.
This is the direction I think I'd like to go...Jackson sneaking into a treasure room in some dungeon somewhere.

"I think where you had the torch, the sickle should be... I think he would be holding up the sickle for light and holding his dagger down to his side like you had the sickle. That should look good."

(right) I flipped the image to get the hands right. Here are the basic lights and darks blocked in.

I'm starting to detail the armour. As he's in a dark area wearing black armour, a lot of details may be hard to pick out. I may wind up lightening his surroundings a bit.

(right) Worked on the flame and some on the cloak. I'm hoping to give it a bat-wing-like texture so it looks out of the ordinary.

"He is looking GREAT so far! Keep up the good work."

I've roughed in the background. There will be piles of treasure on the left and rough, uneven dungeon terrain around him.

(right) Some more work on the background and treasure pile.

Added flame to his other weapon; detailed the ground around him more and started on the ferret's head.

(right) There's not much left. The head and face need more work, and the background isn't quite finished. Other than that, there's only minor detail work to go.
